Penrith hammer West Allotment to claim sixth win on run

West Allotment Celtic 0 Penrith 5: Penrith produced a stunning display in Northern League Division One to take their winning streak to six games with a 5-0 demolition of West Allotment Celtic last night.
Michael Brown set the Cumbrians on there way when he exquisitely finished off Dean Douglas’s cross after the winger’s superb run.
It was 2-0 shortly after when Willie Paul got on the end of Wayne Robertson’s flick on after the target man rose highest to head Craig Wilson’s long throw.
Wilson’s long throw was causing problems for the West Allotment defence and it was Wilson who scored the third after a hand ball in the box as the home side again failed to deal with Wilson’s set piece.
Wilson’s second of the game and Penrith’s fifth was also a penalty shortly after half time when Wayne Robertson was brought down by the despairing West Allotment keeper.
James Earl had scored his first goal for Penrith just before half time when he converted Wayne Robertson’s assist to make it 4-0.
Joint manager James Tose was delighted with his side’s efforts, which were made all the more remarkable by the fact that top scorer Daniel Robertson was unavailable and midfield playmaker Graham Anthony pulled up injured before kick off.
“We created 15 or 16 really good chances tonight and the lads were absolutely magnificent all over the park. They didn’t really have a chance at all which shows the form we are in,” he said.
