‘Lifestyle’ TV makes us feel bad

TRIED to find a bit of entertainment on the telly the other day.
Two channels were showing makeover programmes, one was about living abroad, one was gardening and even the satellite channels were littered with celebrity chefs.
I wholeheartedly agree with Sir David Attenborough when he slams the BBC for over-use of lifestyle shows.
Lifestyles most of us can never aspire to. I don’t want to be made to feel deprived or inadequate. I just want to laugh. To relax in front of the box. Too much to ask? It seems so.
