Start of new era

So many memories. And soon memories are all that will remain of Ehenside School.
The Cleator Moor school closes today on what is sure to be an emotional occasion for pupils and teachers, past and present.
Ehenside holds half a century of memories. The best days of their lives? For some, perhaps.
But if Ehenside has done its job it will have served as a launch pad for better days ahead in the big wide world.
The end of an era means the beginning of another one.
From September, Cleator Moor pupils will head to the site of Wyndham School at Egremont where the new £25m West Lakes Academy is being built.
In time the academy will create its own memories, hopefully of happy and fulfilling days.
