I know how to get away from Olympics coverage

Notice how I’ve avoided any mention of the Olym- DOH!
Anyone fed up of the Olympics yet?
Tough luck because it is going to get worse.
The only way of avoiding it is to holiday in Iran or install yourself in Millican Dalton’s cave.
In case you were wondering how your TV licence money was being spent this year (and next year’s fee and the year after that probably), let me explain.
The BBC has promised viewers they will “never miss a moment” of the London Games and will broadcast a mere 2,500 hours of TV, radio and online coverage headed by Gary Lineker and Sue Barker.
The Olympics will be spread over 26 TV channels, three radio stations as well as online, including blanket coverage on BBC1 and BBC3.
BBC1 will be devoted almost entirely to the Olympics for all 17 days of the games with regular BBC1 shows such as EastEnders switched to BBC2.
The main channels will be backed up by a further 24 dedicated Olympic digital services available in 3D, on satellite, cable and online via the BBC red button.
Now I’m a sports fan, but all this is all just a bit too much. The queue for the cave starts here...
