It sounds like the latest award made by the Queen on her birthday or at New Year.

A CBO, or a CPO – sounds very like an alternative to an OBE or CBE.

The worry is that a CBO or CPO will carry just as much value among the thugs and yobs they are aimed at, as OBEs and CBEs are by the ‘great and good’.

The new titles are all part of Government plans to replace the worthless Anti Social Behavioural Orders (Asbos) as part of a “radical streamlining” of the whole system of tackling anti-social behaviour and showing how seriously they take the issue.

Asbos will be replaced with Criminal Behavioural Orders and Crime Prevention Orders. They’re a sort of Asbo-Plus: better in the same way that Anadin Extra is more use than an Aspirin.

Under the new CBOs and CPOs those responsible for vandalism, graffiti and the like could have their property seized as part of the punishment. Part of the new big idea is to confiscate the ipod/ipad or mobile phone of any wrongdoers. Genius!

That will just encourage them to go out and mug someone else to replace the one they have had taken away!

So crime levels increase.

Whichever space cadet dreamt up this latest scheme deserves an OBI.
