NOW that the local elections have taken place, Post Office Ltd is resuming its consultation on closures in the Cumbria area.
The closing date for responses is May 27 this year – just over two weeks away.
Post Office Ltd is proposing to close 65 branches and put in place 10 ‘outreach’ services in the area.
Postwatch, the watchdog for postal services, is encouraging customers to find out more about the proposals, consider what they mean to them, and provide feedback to Post Office Ltd.
Whilst petitions are useful in demonstrating strength of local feeling, feedback to Post Office Ltd based on relevant local evidence is the surest way of ensuring an outcome which minimises inconvenience.
Customers can find out full details of Post Office Ltd’s proposals on their website www.postoffice.co.uk/networkchange or call 08457 22 33 44.
