More cringe than Chiles

HE turned all coy... and boy was that weird.
What could be more cringe-worthy than a grown man – a flirty Italian one at that – wriggling and blushing in the presence of a female half his age?
Not much – unless you count Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley on The One Show.
Well, Francesco da Mosto (Mediterranean Voyage, BBC2, Wednesday) managed to score highly on the nausea scale when he stepped off the Black Swan schooner to make a shore excursion to meet the lovely, lithesome Miss Montenegro.
“You are so beautiful, I feel embarrassed,” said the gurgling Francesco. Oh brother! So do we pal.
And as for Miss Montenegro, she offered a look of intense pity before seeming to want to run away from her admirer’s proffered love token – a box of biscuits.
Too long on the schooner, Francesco. Go home!
