A man was recovering in hospital this week after he was hit around the head with a bottle in a Croydon night-club, in what he claims was an unprovoked attack.
John Goodman, 20, from Worcester Park, was being kept in Mayday Hospital in Croydon suffering from concussion and facial injuries including a broken nose and cheek bone, after he was repeatedly hit in the face.
He was in Atlantis in Purley Way in the early hours of Sunday morning, July 15, enjoying a night out with friends when he was assaulted. Police believe an argument broke out just before 2pm when two men accused Mr Goodman of looking at their girlfriends. Bouncers called an ambulance when they found him lying beaten up inside in the club.
His mother Jenny Goodman said of her son's condition: “John is in a lot of discomfort and has a lot of swelling and is waiting to have a CAT scan. We are hoping witnesses will come forward.”
Anyone with information should call Croydon Police on 020 8649 0088.
