Woman tried to smuggle crystal meth into country, court told

A 38-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with attempting to smuggle crystal meth into the UK.

Leanne Rossi, of Sea View Place, of Cleator Moor, indicated no plea when she appeared before magistrates in Workington.

Rossi has been charged with fraudulently importing a Class B drug, methylemethcathinone; possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B, cathinone derivative and possession of cannabis.

She was granted unconditional bail and is due to go before Carlisle Crown Court on April 28 for a plea and case management hearing.
