Woman taken to Carlisle hospital after car and bus crash

A woman was taken to hospital this morning after a bus and car collided at Mealo Hill, near Allonby.

She was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle with minor back injuries.

A police spokeswoman said that the two children on the bus were both uninjured.

The crash involved a white Volvo coach and a black Ford Focus, which was driven by the woman.

The crash happened shortly before 8am.
