Woman hurt after car crash near Carlisle

A woman was injured after spinning off a motorway slip road.

The incident happened on the exit off the M6 northbound near the Greymoor Hill roundabout at Kingmoor at around 3.27pm.

A Ford Fiesta collided with a Renault Clio before coming off the road onto a steep bank and hitting a tree.

The woman driving the Fiesta was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the other vehicle was unhurt.

One lane was closed on the M6 northbound at junction 44 but has now reopened.
