Woman in court charged with unlawful wounding

A woman has appeared in court in connection with an alleged stabbing.

Tanneh Vera Befoh, 47, of Main Street, Cleator, is charged with unlawfully wounding Clement Hall, 50, with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

The alleged incident took place in a home in Moor Row in the early hours of Thursday.

A police spokesman said Mr Hall was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle with "non-life threatening injuries".

Befoh did not enter a plea when she appeared before West Cumbria Courthouse in Workington, where her case was committed to Carlisle Crown Court.

Her first appearance there will be on March 17. She was remanded in custody.

How far would you go to look at a bird?

Very far. Excited when rare birds set up home here

I watch birds through the window and on TV. That's all

Birdwatching doesn't appeal to me. I'd go a long way to avoid a gull though
