Woman harassed by ex-boyfriend, Carlisle court told

A man who harassed his ex-girlfriend has been ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work for the community.

James Harold Alexander Wilson, 22, of Prescott Road, Longsowerby, Carlisle, was given the community penalty by city magistrates.

He was also told to have no contact with his ex-partner Louise Philip.

Wilson had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to harassing Ms Philip after she ended their relationship on July 4 after five years together.

Jane Mackrill, prosecuting, told the court that between July 4 and 17, Wilson sent numerous texts and voice messages to Ms Philip.

Alison Whalley, defending, said Wilson was devastated when the relationship ended.
