Woman dies after crash involving horse riders

A woman has died in a crash involving a vehicle and two horses.

The incident happened at about 5.15pm on the B725 between between Clarencefield and Bankend, near Dumfries.

It involved a vehicle and two horses, which were both carrying riders.

Police Scotland say a local female from the Clarencefield area received fatal injuries and another local female is being treated for serious injuries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 101.
