Woman cautioned after punching man in the face

A woman was cautioned by police after punching a man three times, including in the face and arm, in a Maryport pub.

It happened at about 8.30pm on Saturday, the same day as the town's carnival, in the Navy Club on South Quay.

The man suffered facial injuries as a result of the attack.

She was arrested on suspicion of assault and grievous bodily harm, but was later cautioned by the police.

The woman arrested was from Maryport and was aged in her thirties.
