West Cumbrian woman's £28,000 bingo win

A Whitehaven woman has scooped more than £28,000 at bingo.
It’s the second time in less than four weeks that a large amount has been won at Whitehaven’s Opera Bingo.
The win for the woman, who does not wish to be identified, came on Sunday.
Together with a recent win at the Workington club, it takes the total amount won on the National Game at the clubs to over £80,000 in just a short space of time.
The National Game is played every evening at Opera Bingo Clubs for up to £25,000 and joins up 300 bingo clubs across the country to compete for the big national prize.
The prizes are made up of the National Game, regional and in-club prize pots, taking the total won on Sunday evening to just over £28,000.
Opera Bingo marketing manager Charlotte Kennedy said: “Our players do seem to be having a lucky streak at the moment.
“I did say last month that the previous time we had two big winners close together that there was also a third that quickly followed and this certainly seems to be true again this time!”
