West Cumbrian school's letter from the Queen

Pupils at Westfield Nursery and Primary School in Workington have received a letter from the Queen thanking them for a jubilee invitation.
The school invited Her Majesty to attend a tea party for 139 pupils with music and other activities to mark the Queen’s golden jubilee before the summer holidays.
Invitations were written by 22 reception pupils as part of their writing practice, with nursery pupils drawing pictures.
The letter explained that the Queen could not attend the party due to being very busy around the time of the celebrations but thanked the school for its support.
The school also received a commemorative booklet.
Nursery and reception teacher Stacey Skinner said: “The children were really chuffed to get a letter back, especially because it came from Buckingham Palace.
“It has been framed and put in pride of place in our foyer. It’s not every day you receive a letter from the Queen.”
