West Cumbrian man admits dealing MCAT

A man has admitted dealing a ‘designer drug’ known on the street as MCAT.

George Simpson, 30, of The Oval, Mirehouse, Whitehaven, pleaded guilty to supplying a quantity of methylmethcathinone, a class B drug, between November 6 last year and July 27.

He also admitted being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of the prohibition on the importation of the drug between the same period.

At Carlisle Crown Court sentencing was adjourned until February 10 for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
