Water restored at Carlisle homes

Properties in the CA4 postcode area of Carlisle were hit by problems with their water supply, which have now been fixed.

Many homes in this part of the city had no supply at all or very low water pressure.

A United Utilities spokesman said a fault in the supply to this area was spotted just after 6pm tonight and engineers were sent to deal with the issue.

The supplier announced just after 9.05pm that normal service had been restored.
