Warning after card skimmer found on Cumbrian cash machine

Police have issued a warning after a card skimmer was found on a cash machine in a Cumbrian village.

They have urged people to be vigilant when using ATMs and take care to conceal their PIN. They should also report anything suspicious immediately.

Police found the device - said to be particularly sophisticated - on the cash machine outside the Co-Operative in Lazonby, near Penrith, at 4.30pm yesterday.

Anyone who saw any person acting suspiciously near the machine should call the police on 0845 33 00 247.
