Walkers to step out for animals
Published at 13:53, Friday, 14 September 2012
WALKERS, dressed to represent their favourite thing of the year will accompany their dogs to raise money for animal charities.
Mica Graham, a nurse at Belle Vue Vets in Wigton, has organised the walk for a pair of animal charities.
Last time the walk raised just under £1,000 and Mica is hoping that barrier can be broken this time around.
She said: “Last time it was windy and there were hailstones, so hopefully we can get more than that this time.
“Any money we raise is good and it’s for a fantastic cause.
“Fancy dress is optional but people can come dressed as the best part of 2012, so it could be things like the Olympics, Wimbledon or the Jubilee.”
The walk will raise funds for the Pet’s Lifeline and Animal Concern with sponsorship forms available from the surgery. It begins at 11am on September 23 at Belle Vue Vets. Tickets are £5.
