Two men were injured after being attacked by a pitbull-type dog.
A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm following the incident on Henderson Road, in Currock, Carlisle.
The man and woman are alleged to have set the dog on two men from Carlisle. Both were bitten during the attack and ambulance staff treated them at the scene.
Police have seized the dog and questioned a 33-year-old woman from Carlisle and a 24-year-old man, of no fixed address. Both were bailed until October 14.
Inquiries will continue to establish the breed of the dog involved in the Saturday night incident.
