Two car crash in Carlisle

Two cars collided on Warwick Road in Carlisle causing big delays this afternoon.

Two women were trapped inside one of the vehicles.

A police spokeswoman said their injuries were "not life threatening". Firefighters freed them from the car.

The crash was near Carlisle United's Brunton Park stadium.

Officers were diverting traffic and asked drivers to avoid the area if possible.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 3.05pm. They left at 4.15pm.
