Two accused of supermarket cash machine robbery

Two men are facing allegations that they robbed a man while he stood at a supermarket ATM.

The two men - aged 26 and 29 - were in police custody overnight and due to go to Carlisle magistrates' court today after being jointly charged with robbery.

It follows an alleged incident at the Sainsbury’s supermarket early on Friday morning where cash was stolen from a 60-year-old man.

No further action has been taken against a third man who was arrested in connection with the alleged incident.
