A biker killed in a crash near Penrith has been named. He was a married man with children.
Police this morning named the victim as Andrew Kenneth Charters, from Wigton.
Officers said he was a 30-year-old dad-of-five.
Clare Charters paid tribute to her husband on her Facebook page, writing: “loved u so much andrew and my life has just crumbled around me. dunno how im gonna carry on.Xxxxx”
Tributes have been pouring in for Mr Charters since the crash on the A6 at Calthwaite on Monday evening.
He is believed to have lost control of his Suzuki GSXR motorbike on the brow of a hill and collided with a wall.
Close friend Amie Stephenson wrote: “He will be loved and missed forever and will always be in our hearts!!”
Darran Walker said: “What can I say. Still cant believe it. What a loss.”
Christopher Kipper Henderson said: “Had a good laugh other night with him. cant believe there wont be anymore. such a shame.”
Mrs Charters later thanked her friends and family for the support being given to her and the children, adding “our world has been turned upside down”.
Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with any information on the crash or who saw the vehicle before the collision to contact PC 1523 Howe, of the roads policing unit, on 101.
