A British Heart Foundation charity box was stolen at about 3.40pm on September 27.

Pc Darren Rogers, of the British Transport Police, said: “We have carried out a number of inquiries and would like to speak to the man in the CCTV image as we believe he has key information in relation to the theft.

“The man was seen to board a TransPennine Express service to Oxenholme and it’s possible he either lives, or knows someone, in the area.”

If you recognise the man or have information about the theft, call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting log number B4/NWA of 8/10/12.
