Three Cumbrian areas named in top 10 best places to live in England

Three areas of west Cumbria are among the top 10 most desirable places to live in England, new research shows.

The CA27 St Bees postcode was ranked number three in the national list, with Gosforth/Seascale (CA20) and Moor Row (CA24) at eight and 10 respectively.

The Royal Mail commissioned study, carried out to mark the 40th anniversary of the postcode, was carried out in conjunction with the Centre for Economic and Business Research.

It took into account aspects including availability of jobs, quality of education and healthcare, safety, environment and affordability of housing.

Tidworth - postcode SP9 - on the edge of Salisbury Plain was listed as the best place to live. It was followed by the GU46 postcode, covering the Hampshire village of Yateley.
