Thieves steal HGV and wheels worth over £12,000

Police are appealing for witnesses after thieves stole a 7.5 tonne HGV and 16 alloy wheels from Solway DAF in Kingstown, Carlisle.

It is believed that the HGV was used to carry the stolen wheels away from the scene of the theft which happened between 1am and 4.30am on Saturday May 24 at the lorry base.

The vehicle is white with Murray Farm Supplies advertised on the side and police are appealing for members of the public to contact them on 101 if they see such a vehicle or have any information.

The alloy wheels were worth around £12,900.

I would have used the Sunday service

Our rail services are way behind most other countries. No wonder we rely so heavily on cars
