Ten jobs to go when Cumbrian HMV shop closes

Workington's HMV store will close at the end of next week with the loss of 10 jobs.
The Washington Square shop had been granted a stay of execution thanks to a deal struck between landlords and administrators earlier this month.
But the administrators have changed their minds despite a “generous” offer from landlords Riddelltps.
Dave Fletcher, town centre development manager, had hoped that the offer would be sufficient incentive for them to continue trading.
But he confirmed last night that the store’s last day of trading would be on Saturday, March 23.
He said: “They won’t get an offer like that anywhere in the country. I’m saddened but that’s the situation.
“We did our best, and bent over backwards to help them. The only other thing we could have done was pay them to stay.”
HMV administrators Deloitte originally accepted the deal brokered by Mr Fletcher on behalf of Riddelltps.
The town centre music store was among 66 stores earmarked for closure.
HMV went into administration in January after facing intense competition from online retailers, digital downloads and supermarkets.

Just shows how greedy the administrators are, when a deal was offered by the landlord.
How the staff losing their jobs all find work.
