Snow in Cumbria: School closures

The following schools are closing early today - Friday - due to the weather conditions.
Bookwell primary, Egremont
Captain Shaw's, Bootle - closing 1pm
Ennerdale and Kinniside CE primary
Kirkby Stephen grammar
Langwathby School - closing 1.30pm
Mayfield School, Whitehaven
Milburn, Penrith
Orgill primary, Egremont
St Bega's, Eskdale
St Benedict's School, Whitehaven
St Bridget's, Egremont
Thwaites School, near Millom
Valley Primary School, Whitehaven
West Lakes Academy, Egremont
Whitehaven School (children taking exams remaining in school)
In addition, police have confirmed the B5289 between Honister and Buttermere is closed due to the snow and ice making road conditions dangerous.
Cumbria Highways has closed the U4059 Cold Fell and Hardknott Pass, C4026 Ulpha Fell and U4064 Corney Fell roads.
