Peter O’Donnell, 31, of Main Road, shocked girlfriend Siobhan Byrne, 26, by getting up and joining in a seemingly random dance routine to Mars’s hit Marry You on January 3.
But Peter had arranged the flash mob routine before the couple arrived in the USA and had been secretly learning the routine for weeks.
Performance company Flash Mob America helped to organise 100 dancers to be at the park’s Bethesda Fountain, where Peter’s proposal was caught on camera.
It was recorded and uploaded online, where it has become one of the most watched videos.
Bruno told his 6.67 million followers on Twitter: “Awwww, congrats to Peter and Siobhan”.
The star’s message prompted thousands more people to search out the video online.

Peter, a dental technician at Seaton’s Alpha Denture Clinic, said he wanted to do something different and couldn’t think of anything else that would suit Siobhan.
Siobhan, a lifeguard at Center Parcs, near Penrith, said: “It was unbelievable. Amazing. I never expected it. He doesn’t like being the centre of attention, so that made it extra special.”
Peter and Siobhan hope to marry in the summer next year and plan to hold a local ceremony.
