Sign-up opens for Keswick to Barrow charity walk

Registration has opened for the annual Keswick to Barrow charity walk.

The event reached capacity in a matter of weeks last year, with organisers being forced to cut off applications at 2,900 participants.

Of those, 2,335 registered for the 40-mile Keswick to Barrow walk, and 566 signed up for the shorter, 23-mile Coniston to Barrow route.

Only a small percentage of walkers failed to finish last year, despite facing some of the worst weather in the walk’s history.

The event also smashed all previous fundraising records with hundreds of charities receiving a share of £340,288.

This year is the 48th event and both walks will take place on Saturday, May 10. Go to www.keswick2barrow.co.uk to register.
