Sheep stolen from Rockcliffe field

Thieves have stolen 30 sheep from a field in the Rockcliffe area which was close to the M6 motorway.

They were taken some time between 9pm yesterday (Tuesday July 1) and 8.30am today (Wednesday July 2).

A Cumbria Police spokeswoman said the stolen animals included four tups – male rams – and 26 gimmers – female sheep.

She added: “The sheep had just been clipped that evening so they had no markings.”

Anyone with any information should contact police on 101.
