Severe weather warning for Cumbria

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for ice and freezing fog affecting Cumbria and south west Scotland.

It says that a band of rain will move east during Sunday, followed by clearing skies and light winds over night, leading to frost and ice with the risk of patchy freezing fog.

Forecasters say the public “should be aware of the risk of ice forming on untreated surfaces”.
