Schoolchildren approached by elderly man

Police in Carlisle are asking people to be vigilant after a man, believed to be aged between 60 and 70, approached and spoke to children from a primary school while they were on their morning break.

The incident happened at Bishop Harvey Goodwin School in Boundary Road yesterday between 11am and 1pm.

The man is described as being five feet four, having a full black or brown beard and was wearing a red cap, red jumper and dark blue jeans.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
