Road in west Cumbria reopens after gas leak

Part of the A5086 from Egremont to Cockermouth has now reopened after a gas leak in the early hours.

Police said a section of the road, at the Forge garage, at Cleator, was closed to allow work to take place with engineers from Northern Gas called out.

A county council spokesman said the road reopened at around 9.30am and thanked motorists for their patience. Diversions had been set up.
