Road repairs to take place around Carlisle

Road resurfacing work will take place at various points around Carlisle over the next couple of weeks.

Work at Scotby will start tomorrow and last for three days.

For the first two days, patching will be carried out between Park Road and the A69. Temporary traffic lights will be in place.

The road will be fully closed on Thursday to allow for full width patching between Park Road - underneath the railway bridge - and the Scotby to Wetheral road.

Work at Rockcliffe will take place between the junction with the C1015 Harker Road and Rockcliffe School.

The road will be closed on Friday and a diversion will be in place via Harker and Floristonrigg.

And from Tuesday next week, repairs will take place on Blackwell Road between Five Road Ends and the Currock roundabout.

This will last four days and traffic will be controlled by temporary lights. Parking will be restricted in sections.

Councillor Tony Markley, county council cabinet member for highways, apologised in advance for any inconvenience the work may cause.
