Residents only parking to be introduced in Cumbrian town

Parking changes in Penrith will see some areas become ‘residents only’ and a new disc zone introduced.

Cumbria County Council’s local committee for Eden approved parking changes including ‘residents only’ zones in Elm Terrace and Garden Close.

The loading bay in Cornmarket will be converted to disc zone parking and an extra loading bay on Castlegate. ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions will be introduced in Sandcroft.

Martin Stephenson, chairman of Eden Local Committee, said: “The changes have been shaped by local residents and businesses and will improve traffic management around the town.”
