Raiders steal £20k of cigarettes from Cumbria Tesco store

Christmas raiders who struck at a supermarket – escaped with £20,000 of cigarettes.

The break-in happened at Tesco in New Bridge Road, Workington, overnight between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Police say the offenders stole a large amount of cigarettes, of varying brands, valued at about £20,000.

An investigation has been launched and officers say they are still working on all lines of inquiry.
