Probe launched after "suspicious" Carlisle blaze

An investigation is underway after a "suspicious" blaze at a derelict building.

Fire crews were called to Victoria Estate Road in Carlisle shortly after 4pm.

The fire had started in a small pile of rubbish inside an old shed at the former Dobie's garage.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to put the blaze out and requested assistance from police due to the "suspicious circumstances".
