Police warn drivers over bad parking in Carlisle city centre

Police will ticket cars parked illegally on a busy road in Carlisle city centre.

They say they have received numerous complaints about vehicles parking in bus lanes and taxi ranks at The Crescent and surrounding areas.

Many people are parking diagonally and mounting pavements.

PC Lori Tallantire, of Cumbria police, said: “We will continue to regularly patrol the area and anyone found committing offences will receive a fixed penalty notice.

“Letters have been sent to all the businesses in the area, who are aware of the problems."
