Police seek Good Samaritan after vicious attack in Carlisle

Police investigating a vicious assault on a man in Carlisle want to trace the Good Samaritan who escorted the victim to hospital.

The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday, January 18, in a house in Brookside, Raffles.

The victim left the house with serious facial injuries, walking in the direction of nearby Peel Street.

“He was assisted by an unknown male, who walked him to the Cumberland Infirmary, where he was treated for facial injuries and a broken jaw,” a police spokeswoman said yesterday.

Two men from the Carlisle area have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

But police are now appealing for the man who helped the injured man to get in touch because he may be a potential witness who can help the investigation.

He or anybody else who can help should contact police as soon as possible.

The case is being investigated by PC Chris Hinde, who can be reached via the non-emergency number, 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers, anonymously if necessary, on 0800 555 111.
