Police probe 'unexplained' death of Carlisle man, 30

A man has been released without charge following the "unexplained" death of a Carlisle man.

Officers were called to a property in Crossways, Carlisle, at 4.55pm yesterday following the death of Lee Phillipson.

The death of Mr Phillipson, 30, of Borland Avenue, Carlisle, is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious, say police.

Police say they are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Mr Phillipson's death and confirmed his family have been informed and the coroner has been updated.

A 31-year-old man from Carlisle who was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs has now been released with no further action.

Police are appealing for anyone who has any information about the incident to contact them on 101 and ask to speak to the Carlisle on duty sergeant or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
