The incident happened between 4pm and 4.30pm on Saturday when two vehicles were stopped at lights by the Horse and Farrier pub, on Wigton Road.

The vehicles later stopped in a lay-by near St Bede’s Primary School.

One of the cars is believed to be a dark-coloured older model Ford.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101.
