Police probe suspected arson attack at house

Firefighters suspect a blaze at a house in the early hours of today was started deliberately.

Crews were called out to the property in Ennerdale Road, Maryport, just before 1am.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it was believed newspaper in the hallway was deliberately lit.

Police are investigating.

Anyone with information should call officers on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
