Police investigate Carlisle assault

A 20-year-old woman was assaulted at a Carlisle bar.

Police are investigating claims the woman was attacked at Dempsey’s, in Warwick Road, in the early hours of yesterday. She is said to have suffered minor injuries.

Officers are investigating claims she was attacked by a man and woman.

A police spokeswoman said they were “working with the victim to establish the circumstances of the incident”.

Anyone with any information on the incident has been asked to come forward.

Witnesses should contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
