Police hunt man in tuxedo after Carlisle street attack

Police are hunting a man in a tuxedo and bow tie following an assault in Warwick Road, Carlisle, on Sunday.

They say he punched his victim, a male in his fifties, outside the old Lonsdale Cinema shortly after 4am.

The victim suffered cuts to the face and needed hospital treatment. The assailant made off towards Crosby Street.

He is described as white, in his mid-thirties and well built. Police are appealing for information.
