Police hunt man after robbery at Carlisle shop

A man who demanded cash from a shop worker in Carlisle made off with £100.

Detectives are investigating the robbery at Bell's off-licence on Orton Road at about 6pm yesterday.

No weapons were seen during the raid and no-one was hurt.

Police say the man had his face covered and is believed to have used a pushbike - a mountain bike with black handlebars, black grips and wheels and black and white frame - to get to and from the shop.

He was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms, a black hooded tracksuit top with white piping on the shoulders and the front and a white t-shirt underneath.

Anyone with information or who saw the robbery or anyone who may have seen a man on a bike near the shop, should call Carlisle CID on 0845 33 00 247 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
