Police hunt for Cumbrian rail station brawlers
Last updated at 13:28, Thursday, 10 January 2013
British Transport Police officers have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection with an affray at a Cumbrian rail station.
The incident happened at around 8pm on Saturday, December 15 as a group of men arrived at Barrow station on-board a rail service from Carlisle.
As the men left the station they became involved in a confrontation, with a number of them throwing punches at one another.
PC Allan Fernie said: “Thankfully no-one outside of the group became involved in the violence, but it was frightening for rail staff who called police to assist in dispersing the group.
“Before officers arrived the group left the station but enquiries have led me to releasing the images of the two men.
“They were at the station at the time of the incident and I believe they have key information in relation to the incident.
“I now urge anyone who can assist the investigation to get in touch.”
If you recognise the men – or can help officers piece together what happened – call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. In all calls, quote background log B3/NWA of 10/1/13.
