Police appeal after assault at Carlisle taxi rank

Police are investigating a late-night attack where a woman was assaulted by a group of women and men.

The incident happened at about 4.15am on Sunday, December 29, at the train station taxi rank in Carlisle city centre.

The group of women are believed to be in their early 20s and from the Wigton area, while a man involved was wearing a blue jacket.

Police are appealing for any witnesses, particularly a taxi driver who took the victim away from the scene, to call them on 101.

Every. Anything better than what we have currently is an improvement

None. There's little substance to what the Government is saying for the general passenger

It will get better - but only once old trains are taken off the tracks
